ULTRAVISITOR

One can certainly doubt weather I could have understood clearly the social conditions in which I myself was involved. What I pondered first of all was how I could die without torment. No doubt, hanging was the most suitable mean for this purpose. But when I imagined my self hanging, luxurious enough, I felt an aesthetic abhorrence. (I remember that once when I was in love with a woman, I lost my love suddenly because of her poor handwriting.) Nor could drowning serve the purpose al all, since I was able to swim. Moreover, even if drowning were successful, it would come to be more tormenting than hanging. Death by a train gave me more immediate aesthetic abhorrence than any other methods. Death by way of a pistol or a knife has a possibility of failure because of trembling hands. Likewise jumping from a building would be ignominious. On the bias of these considerations, I decide to die by taking drugs. Dying by taking drugs would be more tormenting than hanging. However, besides giving no aesthetic abhorrence, this had the advantage of the insurance against revival. But undoubtedly it would not be easy to find the drug. As I had made up my mind to commit suicide, I took every opportunity to try to secure the drug. At the same time, I used to acquire knowledge about toxicology.

The cartoons that have started riots by Muslims around the world are at http://michellemalkin.com/archives/004413.htm

They really are mild political cartoons, but showing the face of Mohammed is sacrilege.

Seems that several of the cartoons have been faked to make sure Muslims are sufficiently angry at the West and America. Here is a sample of one of the faked cartoons - seems it really is a picture of a French guy that won a pig calling contest.

I hardly think that a political cartoon represents the whole of someone's opinion about anything. They are meant to create reactions, to poke fun at an aspect of something, to make people think and promote discussion. They don't say, "This is the way it is." I'm sure political cartoons get drawn by people who don't even believe them at times, but make them instead to get these reactions of discussion and thinking. If they had written a book or an essay explaining why they think Muslims are violent terrorists and actually thought that they meant to convince others of that same opinion, then I could see the huge controversy. Instead they were just some political cartoons.

Should there be anger and uproar everytime some one is offended? Should people die and buildings burn because someone did something you don't agree with? If you thought someone made a claim that your beliefs promoted the use of violence as a quality solution to problems, do you really think violent protest would be the best way to change their mind?

Personally I think a more effective response to such a situation would be to demonstrate how the claims are false and why you think the actions may have been inappropriate. Making someone stop doing something does nothing to effect the opinions and motives that inspired the action in the first place.

When WW III Started before most of the readers of this account were born. We
were at war an no one knew it!

This is not very long, but very informative. You have to read the
catalogue of events in this brief piece. Then, ask yourself how anyone
can take the position that all we have to do is bring our troops home
from Iraq, sit back, reset the snooze alarm, go back to sleep, and no
one will ever bother us again. In case you missed it, World War III
began in November 1979...that alarm has been ringing for years.

US Navy Captain Ouimette is the Executive Officer at Naval Air Station,
Pensacola, Florida. Here is a copy of the speech he gave last month. It
is an accurate account of why we are in so much trouble today and why
this action is so necessary.

AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!

That's what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (When more
than 3,000 Americans were killed -AD) and maybe it was, but I think it
should have been "Get Out of Bed!" In fact, I think the alarm clock has
been buzzing since 1979 and we have continued to hit the snooze button
and roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then.

It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a country going through a
religious and political upheaval when a group of Iranian students
attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was an
outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world's
most powerful country hostage and paralyzed a Presidency. The attack on
this sovereign U. S. embassy set the stage for events to follow for the
next 25 years.

America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience
and had a serious threat from the Soviet Union when then, President
Carter, had to do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in
the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but stood as a symbol
of America's inability to deal with terrorism.

America's military had been decimated and down sized/right sized since
the end of the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly
organized military was called on to execute a complex mission that was
doomed from the start.

Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans began to be kidnapped and
killed throughout the Middle East. America could do little to protect
her citizens living and working abroad. The attacks against US soil
continued.

In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven
into the US Embassy compound in Beirut When it explodes, it kills 63
people. The alarm went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once
more.

Then just six short months later in 1983 a large truck heavily laden
down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the
US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed.
America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more.

Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives
is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her
slumber.

The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the
gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept.

Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe. In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a
restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid.

Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into
the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rhein-Main, 22 are killed and
the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are
continually attacked.

Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is
hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of
the passenger list and executed.

The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners
when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4 and the most
tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988, killing
259.

Clinton treated these terrorist acts as crimes; in fact we are still
trying to bring these people to trial. These are acts of war.

The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.

The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America. In January 1993,
two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters
inLangley, Virginia.

The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested
after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground
parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City. Six people
are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an
act of war? The Snooze alarm is depressed again.

Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women.

A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35
yards from the US military compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It
destroys the Khobar Towers, a US Air Force barracks, killing 19 and
injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they
see that America does not respond decisively.

They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US
embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.. These attacks were planned with
precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks and goes
back to sleep.

The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12
October 2000, when a small craft pulled along side the ship and exploded
killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US War Ship is an act of war,
but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep.

And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans
think this was the first attack against US soil or in America. How wrong
they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit
the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.

In the news lately we have seen lots of finger pointing from every high
officials in government over what they knew and what they didn't know.
But if you've read the papers and paid a little attention I think you
can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA
or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been
developing since 1979.

The President is right on when he says we are engaged in a war. I think
we have been in a war for the past 25 years and it will continue until
we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to "Get out of
Bed" and act decisively now. America has been changed forever.. We have
to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of
life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again
and again and roll over and go back to sleep.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto said "... it seems
all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant." This is the message we
need to disseminate to terrorists around the world.

Support Our Troops and support President Bush for having the courage,
political or militarily, to address what so many who preceded him didn't
have the backbone to do, both Democrat and Republican. This is not a
political thing to be hashed over in an election year this is an
AMERICAN thing. This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of our
children in years to come.

If you believe in this please forward it to as many people as you can
especially to the young people and all those who dozed off in history
class and who seem so quick to protest such a necessary military action.
If you don't believe it, just delete it and go back to sleep.

Infact, i am quite well versed in history. This is specificaly why i do not support the war. Feel free to be controled on a simple psycological level if you so decide to. We may very well have enimies as americans. This fact nonwithstanding, any and every action taken on account of those advisaries was fallacious and without baisis. Anyone with a set of eyes and a brain can reolize this. read something other than fox news and you might uncover more reolistic reasons for our intanglement in iraq.

No, this is a war of attrition where are enemys have no honor or shame they hide among the innocent. It is unwinnable. you have thought we would have learned from the russians, thier war lasted 50 years without them ever gaining any real ground. We like to it was our help that stalemated the russian occupation of afganistan, the fack is they could have done it anyway. It is they not us who have studied history best. No country has ever won the kind of gurrella war they wage.

Yo dustin, Colonel Richards(apache56) was my history teacher. I agree with what the message was trying to say. It's good illustration of how short the time spawn of attacks against america was. I think the youth of today is in a rebellious state. "The war on terror will never be won" Its constantly being won, its an on going winning. Realisticly terrorism is a major problem and worth fighting help solve. The problem i do have with the current admistration is dude to the "patriot act". Many thousands of a americans have died to help bring us the freedoms we have. Its disrespectful that the lives that where lost to 9/11 where exploited to remove freedoms we have fought so hard for.

It's never been done before! A sub four minute mile, a man on the moon, a machine that will let you write a letter to thousands at the same time. Need I go on?

Let's suppose this is wrong. What do you think will happen if America disengages from the war on terror? Perhaps we should just abandon the vast majority of the people of Iraq. Now what? Would it mean more human suffering and carnage, economic disaster, political disaster and anarchy in many areas of the world? Will the freedom we enjoy be threatened?

The guy next door has a large garden. He plants many vegetables and wants my land so he can plant more. I like vegetables, but I want my land to remain a forest. He keeps telling me that he is going to grab my land and kill me. I see that he kills the workers that maintain his garden if they do not work as well as he desires. He has built a wall around his land and it is difficult to see what is happening, but I do see the armed guards and hear the screams from his tormented workers. He won't let them leave. Someone cut down two beautiful oaks where my land joins his. He says that is a shame and walks away laughing while reminding me that he will soon kill me and have my land. Oh well, guess I'll go watch TV.

The good news is that the vast majority of Americans will not have to lift a finger to to protect our way of life. We have a volunteer military that will do it for them.

I changed one word in this famous quote. "These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Terrorism, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated."

I'm rambling, but I have difficulty imagining the world without America taking the lead and trying to spread the concept of freedom, democracy, tolerance and opportunity. A world without RAWDOD!

While I was aware of some of the events described, there were certainly alot more I wasn't. We're fighting an unpopular and unusual war. There is no country to occupy, it's an ideology we're fighting. I respect all service men and women who have served and carry no ill will towards any of them. Although I wasn't alive during the Vietnam War, I do know that American citizens treated their soldiers very badly after the war because it too was unpopular. The goverment still has issues with paying some veterans their dues. I agree with Mr. Richards about this not being a Republican or Democrac thing as in Presidents from both parties have neglected the issue. However without getting into too much detail I do think George W Bush is the wrong guy for the job. The total occupation of Iraq/Middle East is impossible without UN help, and even then does not insure that terrorism will stop. Thanks for posting this and giving us something to think about, we take so much for granted these days.

Saturday 11th of February 2006 09:45:42 AM

We are fighting a war against an ideology though, which is terribly difficult, for as we fight it, we also empower and encourage it. It is not difficult to support fighting terrorism, but it is difficult to agree that the way we are doing it is the best way possible. Obviously we can't really say what would be better, and there is certainly no perfect solution. This said, there will always be reason to oppose it, at least to a degree. As the solution is imperfect, we have to make sure that where it has shortcomings, we are attempting to minimize them. Having a voice of opposition helps to ensure this.

And by the way, MLK Jr and his posse fought against the ideology of racism pretty respectably without violence. Personally I believe there is value in comparing the two struggles.

I believe that part of the reason why we STILL second guess on actions to be made as a counterstrike is because of the Black Hawk incident in Africa. We sent in troops by Black Hawk Helicopters and they'd either be shot down or the troops would be picked off. They'd carry the wounded, slowing them or trapping themselves in enemy territory. Sounds like a similar tact in the vietnam war.

So the point is that the military, now, looks too carfully in their actions and, in turn, they sacrifice time that would've made sufficient outcomes.

ANYWAYS thats probably only part of the excuse why we push the sleep button. Its easier for people not to think. People rather dream.

I liked that analogy or whatever. With the garden and the forest? It always depends on how one looks at it. You could say that the gardener was the asshole or the guy with the forest. Bigger picture: If Treeman had a forest then it would EVENTUALLY have creatures like deer, lions, tigers, bears, wolves, rodents, rabbits, and/or other animals that find the area a suitable environment.

The gardener gardens there because it has good soil. The gardener kills workers who question the idea of a garden being by some guy's forest. The workers questioning him would either become environmentalists (hippies) or they'd destroy the garden in jealousy of not having land of their own (in order to obtain land in such primitive conditions, one must conquer some and claim it as his or her own).

Doesn't matter how big the garden is; it only gets bigger as the population grows (depending on how prospurous the people are). So they are stopped by woods, and the garden is next to it. In order for that land to become more supportive of its people then the gardener would have to either trade outside his country or perhaps the easier method: plant vegetables around the forest.

As he does this his garden expands, he has more problems. Workers, being one of them and security of his crop. Because creatures come out of that forest at night and eat his vegetables. The town or whatever experiences starvation b/c of lack of food. The gardener questions himself: "Why did I grow a garden here in the first place?" Problems upon problems build up until the gardener feels that he cannot deal with them all and that whoever owns that fucking forest has got to go.

So he cuts a couple of trees down, hunts and kills the creatures for more food and the forest man is pissed because it is his fucking forest. Isolated from society, he has no idea what the gardener goes through or maybe he does... doesn't matter. Hes pissed and he has to retaliate.

So he gathers the animals of the forest and lead them into battle against mankind! The town did not see this comingand experienced many casualties. The gardener sees this and decides to take advantage of the towns anger: They help him cut down that fucking forest, kill those asshole creatures, and get that dumbass hippy.

The point of this fable is: Don't fuck with the gardener

I've never drank at a wedding. I should try it. Who knows what might happen?
Actually, I have a good idea:

I would've hit on all the bride's maids. I probably would then sing on stage then move on to the parking lot nude with an unplugged microphone looking for my car to drive for 30 seconds and crash it into an oncoming truck.

Since the thick skull and alcohol would cushion the impact, I'd then wobble into a strip club b/c I'd think it was a free brothel only to get kicked out on the streets for scaring everyone in there with my large penis.

After yelling, "hippocrytes" the cops would hear then see me running down the street. I would, obviously, be chasing myself since I'd want the cash for singing "day-o" on that stage.

After a good 40 mins. of running, they'd finally catch me and put me in a cell giving me a bathrobe to cover my genitals. After choking a man named "Tank" with that robe for trying to take advantage, I'd then be taken to court, charged for flawlessly ultimate bigotry and sentenced:

3 hrs of community service and a 1 hr lecture b/c I have a nice smile, my family is wealthy and essentially: I'm white.

My family and I went to New Hampshire just like rich ppl do when a holiday comes up. It was alright, but Calagry was a lot better.Whatever I say, I still love my cousins, aunt and uncle.

Twas the night before New Years not one stirred in that place,

Except the chittering and chattering of hebrews:

The permanently caffeinated winey race

Uncle complained about his feet and buying new shoes

While Jim sat near a table and muttered "damn Jews"

My aunt was boiling water for cocoa or tea

Then there was a stench that entered the kitchen!

The family wondered what it could be...

Twas Captain Homework who sat on the floor

Like a stupid circus monkey or a dumbfucked whore

He yawned then created a big cloud of gas

Then had a great idea!

He slid downstairs on his fat ass

As I voiced it for all to laugh and slap knees

Jims growling voice boomed at my bastardly tease

Homework cried and he whined for all those to see

And in his despair he let out some pee.

Me and my sibs laughed loud and hard

Both at Jims complaints and the poor retard
